Books by Dan Brown

Former university teacher Dan Brown wrote four books untill now. Brown's fifth book will be 'The Solomon Key'. The book is expected to be released in the winter of 2006 or in spring 2007.

Digital Fortress
"Digital Fortress" is Dan Brown's first book. Just as Dan Brown's other books, Digitl Fortress is a thriller where fact and faction walk hand in hand. True facts are woven within fiction. The main premise of the book is that there exists a supercomputer that can decrypt any encrypted message through brute force, no matter which algorithm was used to encrypt the message. No exotic cryptographic breakthroughs are mentioned. In reality this is a flawed premise.

  Angels & Demons
Angels and Demons was published in 2000. It is the first book in which we meet Robert Langdon.
In Angels and Demons Dan Brown takes us back in time to explain the debate between religion and science. The story involves a conflict between an ancient group, the Illuminati, and the Catholic Church. Angels & Demons has many similarities with Brown's other books -- all events happen within 24 hours, it starts with a murder, and then takes a breakneck pace through many European settingsThe book is credited with being the first novel to contain ambigrams.

  The Da Vinci Code
The Da Vinci Code starts with the murder of a senior and highly respected curator at the Louvre in Paris. Symbologist Robert Langdon is the prime murder suspect. Langdon flees, together with a female French agent: the granddaughter of the murdered curator. Langdon realizes he is the only person who can decypher the cryptic clues the curator has left for him: symbols in the artworks of Leonardo da Vinci lead to a secret religious organization that tries to keep an ancient secret about the very fundaments of christianity.
